Weleda Foot Balm Reviews

Review of Weleda Foot Balm

Sally Sisson

Packaging: Weleda Foot Balm is an aluminum tube inside a cardboard box. The tubes packaging is simple and slightly clinical.

Application: The foot balm has a thick consistency making it easy to dispense as much or as little as you want. I warmed the cream in my hands and applied it, although the balm is very rich it also absorbs extremely quickly allowing me to get dressed quickly.

Ingredients: The ingredients list is pretty simple. Weleda Products are renowned for their herbal remedies and carefully chosen ingredients. I was surprised to see alcohol in the list but then figured that this ingredient helps to cool the feet and leaves them feeling super fresh. Peanut oil, beeswax and calendula are also in there to moisturize and soothe the feet. The fragrance is slightly citrusy and minty at the same time, very clean smelling.

Results: As the product is so quickly absorbed I found myself using it more frequently than other brands. As a result of regular use my feet felt very fresh and the dry skin well moisturized. ‘Weleda Foot Balm counteracts excessive perspiration, cooling to revitalise, soothe and refresh tired feet.’ I would definitely agree with this.

Pros:

Very quickly absorbed.

Great for sweaty feet i.e. sports people.

Fresh clean fragrance, very unisex.

Cons:

Makes the feet feel very cool so not ideal in the winter.

Natural Being Manuka Day Cream Reviews

Natural Being Manuka Day Cream
By Catherine J.

Packaging: Natural Being Manuka Day Cream comes in a white plastic tube with gold lettering. It has a screw lid and is very easy to use. It is recyclable and has the “Please Recycle” logo on the back which is good as it reminds people that they can recycle the packaging.

Application: Natural Being Manuka Day Cream was a good consistency and came out of the tube easily. The cream was easily absorbed by my skin and left it feeling soft. After applying my skin felt nourished and cared for and I noticed that after using the Natural Being Manuka Honey Day Cream for a month I seemed to have clearer skin...

I did find that the cream had rather a sweet smell and whilst I didn’t find it unpleasant, I didn’t really like the smell, however as the fragrance quickly faded it wasn’t significant enough to stop me from using it.

Ingredients: The ingredients were not shown on the tube but after looking on the internet I found that the key ingredients were: Active Manuka Honey which is used in all Natural Being Products and is proven to revitalize the skin by gently stimulating cell renewal, as it hydrates and maintains moisture levels without feeling greasy, leaving the skin glowing with health.

Manuka Oil for its unique anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties, which fight the micro-organisms that cause irritation and blemishes.

Results: After using the Natural Being Manuka Day Cream for a month I have found that my skin is much clearer and I haven’t had any breakouts of spots. My skin looks radiant and healthy and is lovely and soft.

Pros:

Made with natural ingredients

Easily absorbed

Affordable

Cons:

It has a quite distinctive sweet smell which might not appeal to everyone

Barefoot Botanicals S.O.S Face and body cream Reviews

Review of Barefoot Botanicals S.O.S Rescue Face and body cream
By Nicky B.

Packaging: Barefoot Botanicals S.O.S Rescue Face and body cream comes in a plastic tube with a flip lid.

Application: Very rich moisturising and soothing cream for the face and body, easily absorbed into the skin without leaving a greasy residue, like all Barefoot Botanicals products.

Ingredients: Barefoot Botanicals S.O.S Rescue Face and body cream contains a cornucopia of natural goodies to soothe and nourish the skin including borage oil (a superior source of gamma linoleic oil), evening primrose oil and shea butter to really hydrate parched and distressed skin. There’s also calendula, burdock, comfrey, chickweed and mahonia to soothe itches and inflammation. In North American medicine the plant mahonia has been traditionally used to treat skin complaints. The icing on the cake is the addition of French lavender, chamomile and neroli for an aromatic treat while your skin is being well looked after!

Results: I took Barefoot Botanicals S.O.S Rescue Face and body cream on holiday and it worked a treat on my face which had taken a blasting in the hot August Mediterranean sun. A little goes a long way.

Pros: Great for skin which needs a bit of tender loving care including sensitive, dry and parched skin
Great for skin prone to eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis and allergies
No chemical nasties
Cruelty free
Suitable for vegans
Hypo-allergenic
GM free
100% plant origin
Cons: None

Jurlique Rose Hand Cream Reviews

Review of Jurlique Rose Hand Cream
By Kelly B.

Packaging: Jurlique Rose Hand Cream comes in a cream coloured aluminum tube inside a recyclable cardboard box. The tube is foil sealed (which is good for product freshness) and needs to be pierced with the point in the top of the plastic cap. Being aluminum rather than plastic it is easy to see how much product remains as it doesn’t have the spring back of a plastic tube. The packaging is simple and has an expensive elegant look. The plastic lid is smooth; I prefer grooves for ease of use. I try to avoid aluminum as it a toxic metal and can be absorbed by the body and has been linked to serious illnesses including decreased liver and kidney function, osteoporosis and Alzheimer’s disease (best packaging is glass).

Application: The texture of Jurlique Rose Hand Cream is silky, smooth and easy to apply and spread. However it is so rich that it feels greasy and does not absorb well and tends to sit on top of the skin. On the plus side to this is that it acts like a barrier of protection as the cream can be felt on the hands after washing them a few times. I however found it a little greasy for during the day and preferred to use it on an evening when speed of absorption and greasiness was not a problem. The Jurlique Rose Hand Cream feels like quality cream it never changes texture as you work it into your hands and cuticles it stays silky and smooth until it is absorbed. It is very suitable for applying generously and leaving on overnight with cotton gloves (my hands were silky soft and smooth the next day). I also liked it as a foot cream due to its richness. The fragrance is very strong it has a very sweet rose smell with citrus undertones. The sweet rose smell is so sweet almost like bubble gum, heavily scented rose soap and strawberry sherbet sweets all rolled into one! A difficult scent to describe! Initially I didn’t like the smell at all and found it too sweet and sickly but it did grow on me a bit after a few weeks.

Ingredients: Jurlique Skincare Products are made by an Australian skin care company who only use natural ingredients and no chemical preservatives. They own their own farm and grow (organically and bio dynamically) many of the plants used in their formulations themselves. Jurlique is a long standing company and has been around for around 25 years. They are particularly concerned with the ‘life force’ of the natural ingredients used, which gives confidence in knowing they will be minimally processed and heat treated to preserve the natural benefits of the botanicals used in their products. Jurlique Rose Hand Cream is loaded with known soothing and nourishing ingredients such as safflower oil, sweet almond oil, and marshmallow root. In addition to ingredients that are intensely moisturising and calming which are also anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory; honey, aloe Vera, calendula, and chamomile. For added hydrating and anti aging, carrot root extract and rose flower extract. An impressive combination of top quality ingredients and importantly no chemical preservatives or animal cruelty.

Results: After using Jurlique Rose Hand Cream every evening for about a fortnight my hands feel softer and smoother. I believe it has taken a little redness away from the backs of my hands which must be due to the aloe Vera and calendula which are known to reduce redness. My hands are in pretty good condition anyway so I didn’t see any major difference but it is nice hand cream although no particular wow factor to report. My hands did feel pampered and I had no sensitivity to the cream and I do have very sensitive skin. I feel due to the richness of Jurlique Rose Hand Cream it is most suited as an overnight treatment.

Pros:
A little goes a long way (when used as a day cream
Silky texture, glides onto skin (good for massaging cuticles).
Rich texture making it very suitable for overnight treatment with cotton gloves
Good for feet too
Forms protective barrier over skin
Organic, biodynamically grown ingredient
No chemical preservatives
Cruelty free

Cons:
Takes a while to absorb
Greasy due to rich oils
Aluminum tube – possible health risks
Strong scent
Quite expensive

Weleda Wild Rose Deodorant Reviews

Review of Weleda Wild Rose Deodorant
By Sandra C.

Packaging: Weleda Wild Rose Deodorant comes in a glass pump bottle. Unlike the conventional aerosol spray that contains propane, it is environmental friendly though this one is heavier to carry. As it’s not a pressurised container, it’ll be saver to carry it around on a holiday in hot climate countries. I hope they will change the design so that it is lighter to carry around. However, this Weleda Wild Rose Deodorant priced at £7.95 for 100ml, and it is very expensive compared to non-organic deodorant.

Scent: A strong floral scent with a very sweet touch of rose scent. It is a very uplifting spring/summery smell and quite feminine as well. I’m very happy to just use it as a body spray.

Ingredients: The good thing about this Weleda Wild Rose Deodorant is the bunch of organic ingredients and the absence of the contemporary chemicals which makes it safe to use. It doesn’t have any of the inflammable propane and isobutene or chemicals such as aluminum, parabens etc. With the concern on whether there is a link between underarm antiperspirants or deodorants and breast cancer, I would rather using organic deodorant than being a genuine pig waiting for millions of researches to find out whether underarm antiperspirants or deodorants do prove to link to the cause breast cancer.

Result: Overall, I love this Weleda deodorant. I think it is very good compared to a lot of organic deodorants which tend to evaporate very slowly and make your underarm sticky. It doesn’t evaporate as quick nor make your underarm stay dry as long as other chemically packed deodorant. However, the result was actually quite good for an organic deodorant. Because it contains alcohol derived from essential oils, it didn’t make my underarm sticky even after I have sweated. I feel more comfortable using it as often as I want knowing that it doesn’t contain any harmful chemical ingredients. I will continue using it until they have invented something better.

Pros:

It can be used as a body spray.

The scent is sweet and pleasant.

It is filled with lots of organic ingredients which makes me feel safe to use all the time.

Cons:

It is quite expensive.

It doesn’t stay as long as the contemporary antiperspirant deodorant.

The glass is heavy to carry.

Rosa Fina Cellulite Massage Cream

Review of Rosa Fina Cellulite Massage Cream

By Catherine J.

Packaging: The Barefoot Botanicals Rosa Fina Cellulite Massage Cream comes in a white plastic tube that is easy to use. The writing is black and very clear and there are easy to read symbols on the back showing that the product doesn’t contain any chemical nasties, is cruelty free and suitable for vegans. The packaging is attractive and has the distinctive Barefoot Botanicals logo at the top.

Application: The Barefoot Botanicals Rosa Fina Cellulite Massage Cream has a pleasant fragrance and was absorbed easily into my skin. The cream wasn’t greasy and felt very rich and silky.

Ingredients: Like all Barefoot Botanical products the Barefoot Botanicals Rosa Fina Cellulite Massage Cream doesn’t contain any chemical nasties and the ingredients are 100% ethically sourced. The packaging states “Collagen boosting Rosa mosqueta oil, grape seed extract and garcinia are blended with wild rice extract to enhance the quality of your skin, while horse chestnut, green tea and guarana stimulate your circulation.” Rosa mosqueta is a rosehip seed oil that has been a beauty secret of Chilean women for centuries with regeneration of skin cells being one of the many benefits of this ingredient.

Results: I have been using the Barefoot Botanicals Rosa Fina Cellulite Massage Cream twice a day for a month now and can see a definite improvement in the skin at the top of my legs and on my bottom. I am a fan of Barefoot Botanicals products however when I first started using the Rosa Fina Cellulite Massage Cream I wasn’t convinced that this cream would improve the condition of my skin although I am pleased to say I have been proved wrong.

Pros:

100% natural

Improves the look of cellulite

Absorbs into your skin easily

Cons:

You only see results if you use it daily

Trevarno Body Lotion Reviews

Review of Trevarno Almond & Cocoa Butter Body Lotion
By Sally S.

Packaging: The Trevarno Almond & Cocoa Butter Body Lotion is presented in a glass bottle with a plastic pump for easy and convenient dispensing. The glass bottle comes in a protective cardboard box. The overall packaging is simple, attractive and functional. The only frustration with glass bottles is getting the last bit out. Recycling of the packaging was easy.

Application: The pump bottle dispenses a generous amount of Trevarno Body Lotion which is a rich consistency. I have used several other Trevarno products and find they all go a long way. The lotion is rich yet non sticky making it a lovely product to apply even if you are in a hurry to get dressed. Its absorption into the skin leaves it feeling very silky.

Ingredients: I love reading the ingredients on Trevarno products, they make for quick reading. Trevarno is an organic certified skincare range formulated with the highest quality, socially just and ecologically responsible ingredients available.

The ingredients in Trevarno Almond & Cocoa Butter Body Lotion are simple, nourishing and effective without the need for bulking agents. I feel this is why a little goes along way with the lotion. This lotion contains cocoa butter and almond, jojoba and olive oil to keep the skin soft. Essential oils of vanilla and lavender are also in there presumably to soothe the skin further. It did however smell very strongly of lavender which I had not anticipated I imagined a more cocoa butter aroma
Results: Having used the lotion over an extended period of time, my skin became very smooth and even my horrendously dry elbows improved. The Trevarno Almond & Cocoa Butter Body Lotion did not congest my skin which can sometimes happen for me with daily use of a rich body cream.

Pros:
Absorbs quickly into the skin
Rich texture
Silky results and no dryness or irritation
Cons:
The aroma of lavender is very strong

Review of Skin Blossom Body Lotion

Review of Skin Blossom Organic Bloom Moisturising Body Lotion
By Caroline S.

Packaging: The
Skin Blossom body lotion comes in a simple 150ml white plastic bottle with a flip-top lid for easy squeezing out of the lotion.
The label design is simple yet pretty, sticking mainly to white, brown and green colours to give it a natural, earthy appearance and bearing the Soil Association and Vegan Society logos to show its accreditations.

Application:
Skin Blossom moisturising body lotion needs a good, sharp shake of the bottle prior to application - the first time I tipped and squeezed the bottle I was covered in clear liquid as the water and/or oils had separated from the cream of the lotion. This isn't itself a problem, but to avoid it, make sure you wiggle and shake first!
The lotion is incredibly light and a huge change from what I am accustomed to using. It glides gently and softly over the skin and absorbs quickly leaving a faint citrus scent of orange blossom on the skin.
I was impressed with how far a little lotion spreads, it is certainly an economical product, especially given how little it costs to buy in the first place.
I found that it left my skin feeling cool and refreshed after use - a little like using a cooling spritzing spray on a hot day.
The scent of
Skin Blossom Moisturising Body Lotion is very light and fruity and almost reminded me of a child/baby lotion with its sweetness and delicate notes. I actually think that this would be perfectly suited for use on children, to be honest, because it is in no way heavy on the skin; it doesn't leave an oily film and it won't clog pores. At the same time, I didn't find it to be overly moisturising. I have normal skin with a tendency to dryness on occasion and I didn't really find Skin Blossom Organic Bloom moisturising body lotion to be quite rich enough for me. However, my husband thought that the light texture was lovely and declared that the subtle fresh scent was perfectly acceptable for a man.
If you have normal to oily skin - or if you really don't like the feel of heavy creams - then this lotion is ideal. I can also imagine it making a lovely aftersun as it is cooling and soothing and contains aloe vera which is an essential aftersun ingredient for the skin.

Ingredients:
• Sweet Almond Oil makes skin soft, smooth and supple
• Grape Seed Oil has emoilient properties that impart a rich, silky lustre to skin while soothing irritation
• Sunflower Oil has moisturising and protective properties
• Aloe Vera hydrates and soothes
• Sweet orange oil gives a gentle fresh fragrance and has soothing properties
• Ginger oil has stimulating and moisture retention properties
• Limonene and Linalool are all components of natural essential oils
• Products are made from the maximum possible certified organically grown ingredients
• They are biodegradable and eco-friendly
• They are not tested on animals
• They are free from toxic chemicals, artificial fragrance and colour, hydrogenated oils, petrochemicals, glycols, DEA, MEA, TEA and lauryl and laureth sulphates
• They contain no GM ingredients

Results: Skin Blossom Organic Bloom moisturising body lotion definitely leaves normal skin with an instant silky softness and a feeling of being refreshed and hydrated. I, personally, didn't find it quite rich enough for my legs which tend towards dryness - but it was perfectly fine on my body. It has a gentle, inoffensive, Summery scent that won't overpower - I have some body creams that smell so strongly that they out-scent my perfume! I wouldn't use this on a daily basis in Winter but it is a great Summer lotion and will definitely be packed in my case when I spend a week in Spain later in the year. It would also be fabulous for oily skin or skin prone to clogging and/or blemishes.

Pros: Skin Blossom Moisturising Body Lotion is very good value for money and long-lasting
• Won't clog pores
• Refreshing, cooling feel on hot skin
• Non-oily
• Pleasant, light fresh scent
• Great for children's skin

Cons: Possibly not rich enough for dry skin
• Remember to always shake the bottle prior to use!

Review of Weleda Baby Body Cream

Review of Weleda Baby Calendula Moisturising Body Cream
By Nadine D.

Packaging The Weleda Baby Calendula Moisturising Body Cream comes packaged in an orange coloured, metal tube with a white screw top lid. The Weleda logo is printed on the front along with the product name in English and French. There are no application instructions on the tube, so I consulted the Weleda website for directions. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the product had a use by date of over two years. I was looking forward to trying this product as I have used many Weleda products in the past and had always been happy with their results.

Application The instructions online tell you to warm a pea-sized amount of Weleda Baby Calendula Moisturising Body Cream in your hands before applying it to the skin. It recommends applying it to skin before exposure to cold weather and can even be applied to the nappy area. My daughter is a tall three-year old so I did use a lot more than a pea-sized blob. As the cream is quite a think consistency, if it wasn’t warmed enough then it was quite hard to apply and dragged the skin slightly. The fragrance is quite strong, but not offensive in any way. I actually really like the smell, it reminded me of summer gardens and I could not help but chase my daughter around to smell her skin! I also liked the fact that the product allowed the skin to breathe rather than being a barrier cream.

Ingredients The ingredients were not listed on the bottle, so I found the information online. I was very pleased to find that no artificial preservatives or fragrances are used in any of the Weleda baby products. From the list of ingredients, there are no less than six derived from natural essential oils and it is suitable for use by vegetarians. It has also won the Mother & Baby Magazine Gold Award for best skincare range.

Results Weleda Baby Calendula Moisturising Body Cream is very easy to use and my daughter’s skin felt wonderfully soft following application after her nighttime bath and still soft the morning after. My daughter suffers from some dry skin patches behind her knees and below her bottom from where she sweats. I applied the cream every night and the rash has now completely gone. On the downside, she did have quite a nasty grease type spot under her bottom after using for about two weeks (possibly because I used too much), so I now use the cream two to three times per week instead. She has had no further problems. Because of the effect it had on my daughter’s rash, I decided to try the cream on my dry hands. I work for the health service, so I am constantly washing my hands and using alcohol rubs and the tops of my hands are very dry. The cream did leave my hands a little greasy, but it worked wonders on my dry skin. It now travels everywhere in my handbag and once it’s gone I think I will be purchasing a replacement.

Pros:
• Felt confident using Weleda Baby Calendula Moisturising Body Cream on my toddler’s skin as it was natural and did not irritate.
• Excellent for dry skin conditions.
• Lets your skin breathe.
• Wonderful fragrance
• Priced mid-range, I still felt this product was good value for money.

Cons:
• Quite greasy if you use a little too much
• If it’s not warmed in your palms enough, it can drag the skin when applying.

Lavera Orange Hand Cream Review

Review Of Lavera Orange Hand Cream
By Catherine G.

Packaging: Lavera Orange hand cream is packaged in a plastic tube and comes is 20ml or 75 ml sizes so the small one is perfect to keep in your handbag or to take on holiday.

Application: Lavera Orange hand cream is very light in texture so is easily absorbed into the skin leaving your hands silky soft with a sweet, fruity fragrance. Used daily it keeps your hands smooth and supple but as it is a very light cream it may not be rich enough for very dry or mature skin.

Ingredients: This is another great natural product from Lavera which includes an array of organic ingredients such as: Orange Flower Water, Jojoba seed oil and Sunflower seed oil. All their products are free from chemical nasties and not tested on animals. Their new orange range also includes a shower gel, bath oil, body scrub and deodorant.

Totally organic and natural

Cons:

May not be rich enough for particularly dry or mature skin
